Steve Madison enters his 5th year as Head Golf Professional, and 10th year of service to the Golf Club of Avon. Steve leads the golf operations team in providing the membership a first class golf experience which includes many engaging programs and services. Steve is a PGA Certified Professional, and has garnered significant recognition as a top industry professional. In 2013, Steve was recognized as the Connecticut PGA Assistant Professional of the Year, in 2014, named a U.S. Kids Top 50 Teacher, and in 2015, Steve was presented the Horton Smith Award by the Connecticut Section PGA which recognizes "outstanding and continuing contributions to developing and improving educational opportunities for section PGA golf professionals, as well as a personal commitment to professional development." Steve takes an active leadership role in the Connecticut Section of the PGA. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Section PGA. Steve brings a wealth of additional knowledge from his prior experience working at several fine clubs including Jupiter Island Club, Newport Country Club and Shelter Harbor Golf Club. Steve holds PGA Specialty Certifications in both Instruction and Golf Operations. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a B.S. in Business Management in 2000. Steve lives in Avon with his wife and two children.
